A Few Things I Want To Remember
A Few Things I Want To Remember:
The first few weeks of being a little family – the snuggles, the exhaustion, the full house, the flowers and balloons, the joy, the love, the bliss.
The go with the flow taking in every sweet moment; first baths, first coo’s, first smiles, first family outings, and the excitement and learning of it all.
The bond of nursing and feeding times, being needed for nourishment is such an incredible responsibility and honor—for Josh too, Benen takes a bottle like a champ!
The long newborn naps, watching him sleep (I’ll probably do this forever in a non creepy way) oh and baby yawns!
The way Sully checks in on him. How he drops a ball right beside him waiting for him to play.
They way Josh looks at us.
His tiny wispy swirl of red hair. It often sticks right up. His tiny fingers and toes, his baby blues full of wonder, constantly taking this great big world in.
The snuggles… did I mention that already? Seriously a newborn sleeping on you is heaven on earth. There is nothing better. Oh, and seeing peaceful Benen cuddled up on his daddy during a family snooze makes my heart want to burst.
The love and support of family and friends. The shared excitement and joy, the coffee drop offs, the dinners made, the baby snuggles while we slept, and the official first meets… so special, so lucky.
The honor it is to be his mama.
Below is our newborn lifestyle shoot we had done when Benen was 14 days new on a rainy Saturday afternoon.
